Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What is StableCrowd OnChain?

StableCrowd is a decentralized crowdfunding platform built on blockchain technology. It allows creators to raise funds for their projects directly from backers without traditional intermediaries, using cryptocurrency for transparent and secure transactions.

How is blockchain crowdfunding different from traditional crowdfunding?

Blockchain crowdfunding offers several advantages: transactions are transparent and verifiable on the blockchain, smart contracts automatically enforce funding rules, fees are typically lower, and the platform operates globally without regional restrictions. Additionally, funds are released according to predefined conditions, adding another layer of security for backers.

What cryptocurrency do you use for funding?

Our platform uses USDC (USD Coin), a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. This provides stability in value compared to more volatile cryptocurrencies, making it easier for both creators and backers to plan and manage their finances.

For Backers

How do I back a project?

To back a project, first connect your cryptocurrency wallet by clicking the "Connect Wallet" button. Browse campaigns and when you find one you'd like to support, click on it to view details. Click the "Back This Project" button, enter the amount you wish to contribute, and confirm the transaction in your wallet. The transaction will be processed on the blockchain.

What happens if a project doesn't reach its funding goal?

It depends on the campaign type. For goal-oriented campaigns, if a project doesn't reach at least 75% of its funding goal by the deadline, it is considered failed and backers can request a refund through the campaign page (minus a 4% processing fee). For flexible campaigns (no goal set), the creator can withdraw any amount raised after the campaign ends, so there are no refunds available for these campaigns.

How do I know my funds are secure?

All campaign funds are managed by smart contracts on the blockchain, not by us or the project creator until funding conditions are met. The smart contract code is open source and can be audited. Additionally, all transactions are recorded on the blockchain and are publicly verifiable.

Do I need to pay any fees to back a project?

There are no platform fees for backing a project. However, you will need to pay blockchain network transaction fees (gas fees) when making your contribution. These fees go to the blockchain network operators, not to us, and vary depending on network congestion.

For Creators

How do I start a campaign?

To create a campaign, connect your wallet, click on "Create Campaign" in the navigation menu, and fill out the campaign details. You'll need to specify your funding goal, campaign duration, project description, and other relevant information. Once submitted, your campaign will be deployed as a smart contract on the blockchain.

What fees do you charge for creators?

We charge a 4% platform fee on all fund withdrawals, regardless of campaign type. For goal-oriented campaigns, this fee is deducted when you withdraw funds after reaching at least 75% of your goal. For flexible campaigns (no goal set), the fee is deducted when you withdraw any amount raised after the campaign ends. Additionally, you'll need to pay blockchain network transaction fees (gas fees) when creating your campaign and withdrawing funds.

How and when can I access the funds raised?

This depends on your campaign type. For goal-oriented campaigns, you can withdraw funds after your campaign has reached at least 75% of its funding goal and the campaign deadline has passed. For flexible campaigns (no goal set), you can withdraw any amount raised after the campaign deadline has passed, regardless of the total amount. To withdraw, visit your campaign page and click the "Withdraw Funds" button; the funds will be transferred to your wallet minus a 4% platform fee.

What if my campaign doesn't reach its funding goal?

This depends on your campaign type. For goal-oriented campaigns, if you don't raise at least 75% of your funding goal by the deadline, you won't receive any funds and backers can reclaim their contributions (with a 4% platform fee deducted at refund time). For flexible campaigns (no goal set), you can withdraw any amount raised after the campaign ends, regardless of the total amount.

Is there a minimum duration for campaigns?

Yes, each campaign must have a minimum duration of 1 hour to allow backers enough time to contribute.

Can I cancel my campaign?

Yes, you can cancel your campaign any time before it receives contributions; once canceled, it cannot accept new contributions or be reactivated.

Technical Questions

Which wallets are supported?

We use Dynamic's wallet infrastructure to provide secure, self-custody wallet solutions. You can either create an embedded wallet directly on our platform or connect your existing external wallet. Our platform never has access to your private keys - they remain under your complete control. Dynamic supports 500+ external wallets including MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet, and many other Web3 wallets across multiple blockchain networks.

What blockchain networks do you support?

Our platform currently operates on Base Layer 2, which provides fast and low-cost transactions while maintaining security through Ethereum. We may add support for additional blockchain networks in the future to provide more options for our users.

How do I get USDC for backing projects?

You can acquire USDC in several ways: directly through our wallet infrastructure using credit card, Apple Pay, or other payment methods for instant funding, or by purchasing through cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase, Binance, or Kraken and then transferring to your wallet. Our integrated wallet infrastructure makes it easy to fund your wallet without leaving the platform. Make sure to get USDC on Base Layer 2, which our platform operates on.

Support

I'm having trouble with a transaction. What should I do?

If you're experiencing issues with a transaction, first check the transaction status on a blockchain explorer (such as Basescan for Base network or Etherscan for Ethereum). If the transaction is pending for a long time, it may be due to network congestion or low gas fees. If the transaction failed, you can try again with higher gas settings. For further assistance, please contact our support team through the contact page.

How can I contact support?

You can reach our support team by visiting our Contact page or by sending an email to stablecrowdapp@gmail.com. Please provide as much detail as possible about your issue, including any relevant transaction hashes, wallet addresses, and screenshots.
